I'm one person painting one portrait at a time. These are the terms for ordering a hand-painted pet portrait. Booking a ship date and checking out means you agree to them.

What you're ordering

A hand-painted 5×7 inch oil portrait of one pet, on wrapped canvas, painted from photos you send. One animal per painting — it keeps each portrait detailed and personal. The price is $147.

Booking and payment

Payment in full secures your spot. I paint one portrait per week, so booking a ship date reserves that week for your pet and takes the date off the calendar for everyone else. Checkout is handled securely by Stripe — I never see or store your card details.

Photos I'll need from you

After you book, I'll email you for 3 to 5 photos of your pet. Phone photos are fine. A portrait can only be as good as the reference, so a clear, well-lit mix — a full body shot, a close-up of the face, anything that shows their personality — helps a lot. I'll let you know if I need more. By sending photos, you confirm they're yours to share and that I can use them to paint your portrait.

Timing and getting it to you

I paint your pet during the week leading up to your chosen date. How your portrait reaches you depends on where you are: right now I'm focused on my local area around Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where pickup or hand-delivery is easy, and I'm rolling out shipping within the United States from there. I'll sort out the option that works best for you after you book. If your portrait ships, delivery timing once it's with the carrier is in their hands, not mine.

Made to order, so all sales are final

Every portrait is painted by hand, just for you, and can't be resold to anyone else. For that reason, orders are non-refundable once booked. If something comes up and you need to move your ship date, reach out before I've started painting and I'll do my best to accommodate you.

If something's not right

These are paintings, not prints, so a little hand-made variation from the photo is part of the charm. But if something feels genuinely off when your portrait arrives — a wrong angle, a missing detail, anything — tell me within 7 days of delivery and I'll do my best to make it right.

Showing the finished work

I may share photos of finished portraits in my portfolio or on social media. Your reference photos stay yours — I won't post the originals you send. If you'd rather I keep your finished portrait private, just say so and I will.

Changes

If anything about these terms changes, I'll update this page and change the "last updated" date at the top. The terms in effect when you book are the ones that apply to your order.
